About Indy Language Center

The Indy Language Center is a subdivision of Indy Translations, which has been serving the Indy area for 15 years and we are located on the north side of Indianapolis in Carmel. We strive to support our students to achieve their language learning goals, whether it is for personal growth, travel, or to excel in their business environment. You will be working in a small, motivated team and will be playing an essential part to ensure the smooth operation of our school, and will pursue tasks involving administration, curriculum organization, design and teaching.


Managing Assistant to Education Director

Part time: 20 - (potentially 30hr week)

  • Follow up on all student calls and email inquiries
  • Keep class database up-to-date and organized
  • Build class schedule
  • Responsible for calendar and keeping events up to date
  • Take over front desk when necessary to greet students
  • Keep atrium area, classes, and supplies organized and clean
  • Keep student attendance sheets up-to-date
  • Act as student liaison
  • Will oversee marketing campaigns with sms, email, social media and phone
  • Must have excel skills
  • Must speak second language
  • Outgoing and flexible personality


Full Time with Sales Incentive

  • Fully responsible for social networking campaigns and posts
  • Increase active online engagement
  • Research company sales opportunities for translation and language class
  • Work with director to maintain minimum group class student population
  • Keep Website narrative up-to-date
  • Design and send regular mailchimp campaigns
  • Build student activities and events
  • Responsible for organizing and reaching new translation/interpretation clients as well as language classes for new business
  • Second language (Spanish preferred)

Language Instructor (Contract)

The Indy Language Center is looking for your support!
We are a small language school looking for language instructors on to support our team and teaching motivated adults, who want to improve their language skills approx. 2-4 hours a week or as needed.

Position summary

  • Adequately prepare and implement lesson plans for beginning to intermediate Adult learners
  • Increment appropriate and meaningful classroom activities which will engage the students and encourage them to speak the target language.
  • Meet or exceed the course objectives and ensure appropriate skills for student success.
  • Maintain attendance sheets
  • Comply with any and all school policies
  • Teach and motivated adults to speak and learn in small classroom setting.
  • Work in one-on-one lessons, if required.

Quaifications and Experience

  • Adequately prepare and implement lesson plans for beginning to intermediate Adult learners
  • Bachelor degree in the Language taught
  • Teaching experience for at least 1 year
  • Native speaker in target language a plus
  • Time spent in country of target language a plus
  • Ability to work flexibly in the evening
